It’s an early Summer morning in Maryland zone 7B and I’m checking on my #plants and #vegetables. The hot dry weather has dried out the Purple Salvia and Yarrow. The deer have eaten half of the Sedum Matrona and the Shasta Daisies are coming up!

How do they do in shade? I’m running out of ideas for color in front of my house, which faces North 🤦🏼♀️. Most of the day (if not all) it is full shade, if not all of day, bc of how the roof line hits. I’m not a fan of Hostas. TBH, only reason is bc everyone seems to have them. I like to be different. 😂🎉

That is a beautiful blue rug juniper! I’ve been telling my mom we should start using a real tree when we decorate her house for Christmas and this is always the type of tree I have in mind. I live in Washington state and I see these as well as many other beautiful cypress trees all over the place ❤️

I just got this sedum from Home Depot. I removed it from its container and planted in a sandy compost miz soil. It's starting to bloom.

Is it possible to use azalea fertilizer as a general fertilizer? I have 2 boxes and will never use it all, so want to use one of them for general use on plants.
Hello! Azaleas are acid- loving plants so please be careful using it as a general fertilizer. Before using it on a plant, please do a quick search to make sure the plant likes acidic soil. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊

Thanks so much! The plant next to the sedum matrona is a purple salvia. It is a perennial that returns every year in zone 7B. What zone are you in?
I'm in 7B. So the plant on the railing above the sedum is the Salvia? And what is the one right beside it with what looks like red flowers?

You’re right
Why does your potting mix have lumber in it? Your poor seeds. Use sphagnum peat moss and perlite with just a touch of manure compost. Your plants will thank you later. God bless.

I like Vinca but I passed on this sale
I'm in zone 7b also. Some say 7-11 is lantana's grow zone. To be safe, I brought my lantana in for the winter. I put it back out in the spring. It is surviving and thriving. I plan to try to overwinter the lantana again.
